Goed nieuws voor Europese start-ups! Google's venture capital firma Google Ventures komt naar Europa. Google start ook met een Europees investeringsfonds van 100 miljoen dollar dat het zal investeren in tal van Europese start-ups.
Google: Europa heeft potentieel
Volgende Google heeft de Europese start-up wereld enorm potentieel. Google verwijst naar de start-up scenes in Berlijn, London & Parijs. Google wijst ook op het succes van Europese start-ups zoals SoundCloud, Spotify & Supercell.
Google Ventures Europe start met 5 partners. Zo zou Google topman Eze Vidra, ondernemer Tom Hulme, angel investor Peter Read & het hoofd van code.org Avid Larizadeh deel uitmaken van het team. Ook TechCrunch-journalist MG Siegler zou in het team zitten.

Google Ventures
Google Ventures startte in 2009 in de Verenigde Staten. Google Ventures biedt niet enkel geld aan startende tech-bedrijven maar geeft vooral ook expertise. Zo heeft het een team dat instaat voor ontwikkelings-support, design-expertise en rekrutering ondersteuning.
Daarnaast helpt Google ook met het in de markt zetten van product. Vandaag werkt Google Ventures al met meer dan 250 start-ups. Vorige zomer investeerde Google Ventures een som van 258 miljoen dollar in Uber, haar grootste investering ooit.
